Green drainable concrete pavement

Pavement made of drainable concrete pigmented with Chromium Oxide Green 60 SC Pigments®. Both the color and design of the pavement have been chosen to integrate perfectly with the natural surroundings of the mountainous area of Artxanda, Bilbao, where many visitors enjoy hiking. With this green pigmented concrete pavement, the functionality of the area has not only been improved but it has also been done in a sustainable, aesthetic, and respectful manner towards the area.

For this project, a pigmented drainable concrete was used. Drainable or porous concrete is a type of concrete designed to allow water to pass through its structure. It is composed of cement, water, and coarse aggregates to create high porosity. This characteristic makes it ideal for applications where rainwater management is needed, such as parking lots, sidewalks, roads, and pedestrian zones.
