Pieri VBA 2002. Solvent-free surface retarder for an exposed aggregate finish on the top of the concrete. Sprayed on fresh concrete, it acts as a cement retarder preventing its hardening so it can be subsequently removed with a jet of water, leaving the exposed aggregate. It is widely used in continuous concrete paving that requires this type of finish.
It is also used for facings or artificial stone elements that have been retarded at the bottom of the mould with D.R.C. and if a retarded finish is also desired on the top face. The result is a piece of concrete with exposed aggregate on both faces of the prefabricated element.
