Reconstruction of Ábside Square, carried out with pigmented concrete to harmonize the new space with the color of the historic stone of Tortosa Cathedral.

Ábside Square, located in a strategic point, serves as a link between the monumentality of the historic complex and the everyday life of the neighborhood. For this reconstruction, the concrete used for the pavement, steps, and vertical elements was pigmented to achieve chromatic uniformity in harmony with the tone of the Cathedral.

The intervention restores the building’s base, allowing for a complete reading of its perimeter. Materials, lighting, and construction details respect and enhance the geometry of the temple, while the concrete pavement, enriched with pigments and local aggregates, visually integrates with the original stone, reinforcing the square’s connection to its historical and architectural context.
